Sunday Shame: Gratuitous Violence Edition

The unhusband and I are definitely divided when it comes to our choices of television programs and movies.  Blood, guts and entrails call his name, while I regularly have to close my eyes  during CSI.   Yeah I am a wimp and my stomach easily turns.   I do make the occasional exception to my no gore, blood and guts rule – the historical fiction.   Of course I wrap up my defence in the fact that I am learning something.

Okay, so I am not really learning anything watching shows like “Spartacus Blood and Sand” and “Rome” but I can pretend right?   There has to be some higher purpose to all that gore other than the fact that the actors are extremely hot and the gratuitous sex right?

So I suppose the long and short of the story is that I will watch shows with gratuitous violence, if I can find some way to justify it, even if it is iffy at best.  It’s history right?  Isn’t there some sort of saying about forgetting history?  Stop shaking your head at me, it works if you really stretch your imagination.

So, I know that I am not the only one to twist my viewing morals when I find something that turns my crank.  What show are you currently watching that you have to stand on your head to justify?
